No, I realised that when the numerical answer in one of my questions looked like pi/2 and when I got root(g)/2, and I thought I was wrong...Turns out that pi/2 ~ root(g)/2 to 3 significant figures!
No, there's some spooky deep connection between the radius of the earth and the ratio of the radius of a circle to the circumfrence.
