Interesting Coincidence

The square root of the gravitational acceleration on the surface of the earth roughly equals to pi:

3.14^2 ~ 9.8

No, I realised that when the numerical answer in one of my questions looked like pi/2 and when I got root(g)/2, and I thought I was wrong...

Turns out that pi/2 ~ root(g)/2 to 3 significant figures!

No, there's some spooky deep connection between the radius of the earth and the ratio of the radius of a circle to the circumfrence.
